Opening "House of the Future III: Fertile Grounds'
Live visual and music performance
Join us for the opening of our new exhibition: House of the Future III: Fertile Grounds
We are delighted to invite you to the opening of House of the Future III: Fertile Grounds, the third and final chapter in our ongoing House of the Future project. Join us on Saturday, November 8 at 3 PM at OpenArtExchange, Hoogstraat 85 Schiedam. The exhibition will be on view until December 20, 2025.
In this concluding exhibition, we turn our gaze toward roots and heritage, asking how we can bring the past into the future in a positive and fertile way. In a world that grows ever more fragmented and diverse, where everyone carries different origins and stories, how do we cultivate shared ground? What do we choose to leave behind, such as generational trauma, and what do we carry forward to build a more connected tomorrow? The exhibition features a installation by Franco-Togo artist Yao Metsoko, whose work draws deeply from ancestral memory and spiritual connection
For the opening, musician Wander Vanhoucke and VJ/visual artist Nadine Jongeling (VJ Era) will come together in a unique live performance. Wander merges classical instruments and orchestral soundscapes with electronic music, while Nadine reimagines archival footage into new visual narratives. Together, they weave sound and image into a poetic dialogue between past and future, a living metaphor for Fertile Grounds.
Join us as we celebrate this final chapter of House of the Future, a moment to reflect, connect, and imagine how our shared roots can give rise to a new beginning.
