Opening tentoonstelling - The Odyssey

We warmly invite you to join us for the opening of our newest group exhibition, The Odyssey on Saturday, 2nd May 2026 at 15h30 at OpenArtExchange, Hoogstraat 85, Schiedam. The exhibition will be on view until June 13th, 2026.
The opening will be rythmed by a live music performance from
Jasmijn Wagenaar, a talented graduate of the Royal Theatre Academy in Den Bosch, presenting original work inspired by the exhibition's themes. Through songs from the heart, Jasmijn Wagenaar shares her personal journey, reflections, and perspective of the world.

The Odyssey features a series of new works by established and emerging contemporary African artists, on view for the first time in the Netherlands. The exhibition explores humanity's journey through existence: the search for meaning, the navigation of adversity, and the creation of personal and collective spaces in a vast, mysterious universe. Through distinct visual languages, ranging from abstraction to detailed symbolic compositions, each artist engages with a different dimension of this shared journey, their own Odyssey.
