Opening Another World of Blue

We are delighted to invite you to the opening of our Another World of Blue special exhibition. Organised at the occasion of Stedelijk Museum Schiedam's landmark Yves Klein exhibition and opening during Schiedam's IDDF Festival, join us on Friday, May 22 from 5 PM at OpenArtExchange, Hoogstraat 85 Schiedam. We have the pleasure of welcoming Alderman of Culture Frans Hamerslag, who will give an opening speech. Followed by two audiovisual performances by Wander Vanhoucke and VJ Era.
For the opening, experimental pianist Wander Vanhoucke and visual artist/VJ Nadine Jongeling (VJ Era) will come together in a unique live performance. Wander merges classical instruments and orchestral soundscapes with electronic music, while Nadine reimagines archival footage into new visual narratives. Together, they weave sound and image into a poetic dialogue inspired by the power of blue.
Wander Vanhoucke
Experimental Pianist
Wander Vanhoucke is a experimental pianist whose work merges piano, self-built electronic instruments, and immersive sound design. Inspired by artists such as Nils Frahm, Philip Glass, and John Cage, his performances explore the space between composition and improvisation, where acoustic and electronic textures intertwine. He has performed at venues and festivals including Fusion Festival (Germany), Turbine Delft, Signals Festival (Berlin), The Vessel Berlin, Marie Antoinette Berlin, and Eichkamp Berlin.
Nadine Jongeling
Visual Artist/VJ
Nadine Jongeling is a visual artist and VJ (Video Jockey) working across multiple mediums, guided by curiosity rather than convention. Her practice explores the commodification of spirituality in Western culture and how sacred traditions are simplified and repackaged into consumer products, questioning what is lost or distorted in the process. Her work also engages with themes such as spirituality, identity, addiction, and consumerism. Through experimental visual storytelling, she creates immersive spaces that reflect the tensions between vulnerability and resilience in a commercially driven world.
