On Saturday August 23, we proudly opened our new group exhibition: House of the Future II - Common Grounds at OpenArtExchange! The exhibition features works of five contemporary African artists: Michael Agemo, Feraul Fosso, Habibi Yayé Keita, Souleymane Konaté, and Kingsley Ogwara.
The afternoon was filled with warmth, lively conversation, and music. A special highlight was the live acoustic performance by LAHAYE, a promising Rotterdam-based singer-songwriter whose heartfelt storytelling and soulful voice resonated deeply with the exhibition’s theme. Her debut single “I Used to Be Happy” captures the search for belonging, echoing Common Grounds’ central question: what connects us, and how do we shape a shared future together?
House of the Future II – Common Grounds explores social cohesion, community, and living together in increasingly multicultural and densely populated cities. Through paintings, textile works, and sculptures, the artists take us on a journey from the collective to the deeply personal: from Ogwara’s semi-abstract explorations of unity, to Fosso and Agemo’s reflections on home and community, to Keita’s intimate portraits celebrating resilience and difference, and Konaté’s symbolic visions of shared values.
Together, their works invite us to reflect on how harmony can emerge from diversity, and how the cities of tomorrow can truly become homes for all.
The exhibition is on view until October 4, 2025. We warmly invite you to visit and experience it for yourself!
