Every September, the Brandersfeesten transforms Schiedam into a vibrant meeting place filled with festivities, culture, music, and activities for all ages. 

To celebrate this special occasion, OpenArtExchange will open its doors for a creative art workshop, inviting both young and old to explore their imagination and create their own artworks. 

The event is organised as part of the Art Route Schiedam, inviting visitors to explore the city's galleries, art centres, and museums, each presenting its own special programme.

Creative Workshop

Let your imagination run free and create your own artwork at OpenArtExchange!

Throughout the day, participants will have access to paints, markers, paper, recycled materials, and other creative supplies. Whether you already love making art or simply feel like experimenting, everyone is welcome to take part and create something of their own.

The workshop is organised in the spirit of our latest exhibition, Re-Formation, in which recycled materials are reshaped and reinvented into new forms. 

Featuring works by Sanda Amadou and Marcel Kpoho, created during their residency at the gallery, Re-Formation explores ideas of transformation, renewal, and the creative possibilities of giving materials a new life.

Throughout the day, we will also present a selection of affordable artworks at one of the Brandersfeesten stands located throughout the city. Below, you can find a sneak peek of some of the works that will be available.
