The Waterweg Cultuurprijs will be awarded on 4 October in Museum Vlaardingen.

In April, the jury chose twelve proposals, the three – in his eyes – the best. Among them two ‘Schiedam’ entries: Waterweg Street Art by OpenArtExchange and Hoer by Nassima Elidrissi. The third candidate for the prize awarded for the fourth time is (Digi) language: Vlaardingen of the Future of Kite Education.

The Waterweg Cultuurprijs 2019 is all about “Language in the broadest sense of the word”. During the evening of the award ceremony, the nominees will present their projects to the public, after which the winner of the promotion prize will be announced. The winner receives a cash prize of fifteen thousand euros and a new work of art from Dike Hof. The program is framed with music and word art from local artists.

The festive evening will take place in the central hall of Museum Vlaardingen, Westhavenkade 54 in Vlaardingen. Everyone is welcome from seven o’clock. From half past seven a special tour is given through the museum and the exhibitions “Clean on the Hook” and “Jongkind en route, An artist born”. The presentations and the award ceremony begin at half past eight. After jury chairman Kefah Allush announced the winner, around nine o’clock, the evening will be concluded with a festive drink and music.
