Nachtbrötchen Amsterdam

Finally time to look back at OpenArtExchange’s last event before the summer holidays: Nachtbrötchen Amsterdam last week in the NDSM warehouse. In this 2nd collaboration with the German Nachtbrötchen-organisation, it was again an exciting event, where contemporary performing arts and visual arts met for 3 days in a fantastic industrial location. From classical music, theatre, body painting act, tattoos to contemporary visual art in all its manifestations, gypsy music and DJ sessions. It was all there.

OpenArtExchange contributed with a large textile installation in the steel construction of the hall of the French-Algerian artist Laftmonk (aka Latifa Medjdoub), who also performed meditative social art performance Equanimity with the audience during the weekend accompanied by fantastic piano playing by Aleks Cetkovic (@x.aleks_ig) from Dusseldorf.

And of course there was contemporary African art, from the likes of Bouvy Enkobo (France/DR Congo), Jonathan Vat Vatunga (France/DR Congo), @Sanda Amadou (Benin), Benjamin Deguenon (Benin), Casca Pedro Pinto (UK/Angola /Portugal), Casca art, Kingsley Ogwara (Nigeria), Kingsley Ogwara, Laftmonk and by our Schiedam artist Jacques Tange (Netherlands).

It was a special end to a very busy season. Time for vacation and reflection. The OpenArtExchange gallery in Schiedam, Netherlands will be closed for holidays for the next 3 weeks. We hope to welcome you again in August with new activities. Happy Holidays!
