The paintings of Heleen Mos are not characterized by grand gestures or exuberant representations. The enthusiasm of the painting process lies in the many layers, which have been set up with a lot of patience and dedication. They are works that reluctantly reveal their beauty. A beauty that we as a viewer have to open up to, but are also richly rewarded for. The rich layering of each painting simultaneously conceals and reveals their true poetic nature, inspiring everyone’s associative ability. The paintings invite inner journeys to daydreams that reflect the unfathomable spatialities depicted in ourselves. In a world full of haste and stress, Heleen Mos’s paintings are a relief, a point of rest, a vibrant vitality of silent color sounds.
Often light and harmonious, sometimes dark with a philosophical touch, bus always intense and grand. Mos allows you to define your own thoughts in her world. The atmosphere in her work guides you, but the artist has no wish to compel. Mos offers you the opportunity to experience her world. This makes her work thrilling and familiar.
